Call for abstracts
The Organisers invite scientists, clinicians and researchers to submit their abstract(s) to the 17th EADV CONGRESS - PARIS 2008. The DEADLINE for ABSTRACT submission is: 20th March 2008
Submission Guidelines
Abstract submission is now closed.
Thank you for having submitted over 2000 papers to the EADV 2008 congress!
Authors will be notified of the selection results by email in early May 2008 and will receive all technical information and presentation instructions prior to the Congress.
Remember that ONLY electronically submitted abstracts will be considered.
- Selected abstracts will be presented as oral presentations, during the Free Communications sessions, and as posters.
- Abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted and will therefore not be considered for the programme or for publication.
- Abstracts must contain work that has not been previously presented at any national or international meeting before 30th March 2008.
- Authors will be required to select their preferred type of presentation on their online submission form (oral or poster).
- Some of the selected posters will also be presented during the Poster Forums sessions. If you wish your abstract to be considered for poster display as well as for a short oral presentation, please tick the appropriate box on the online submission form.
- Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Committee without knowledge of their source.
- Acceptance or rejection of an abstract will be based on the average grade awarded by the reviewers.
- Authors will be notified of the selection results by email in early May 2008 and will receive all technical information and presentation instructions prior to the Congress.
- The abstract should be presented in such a way that the contribution of the research to advance knowledge can be assessed.
- The authors’ conclusions should be clearly stated. General statements such as “the significance of these findings will bediscussed” will be regarded unfavourably and will generally lead to the exclusion of abstracts.
- Initials and abbreviations which are not in common use should be avoided unless they are essential.
Remember to check spelling and grammar carefully. Your electronically submitted abstract text will be reproduced as submitted.

Speaker disclosure of potential conflicts of interest
- The EADV Scientific Programming Committee requires that all presentations be as free of commercial bias as possible and that any information on commercial products or services be based on already generally accepted medical thinking. It is also preferred that generic drug names be used wherever possible and that any presentation referring to unlabelled or research-associated commercial products should disclose this situation to session attendees.
Co-opted Speakers & Chairs
- Co-opted Speakers and Chairs of the Scientific Sessions are asked to submit their abstracts for inclusion and publication on the Congress Abstracts CD-ROM. Their abstract must be submitted electronically wich will belocated on this website.
Junior Session
- Authors wishing to submit their abstract(s) for consideration for the Junior Session need to select the corresponding option on the online submission form. In order for their abstract to be considered for the Junior session, authors must be RESIDENTS.
Registration
- Presenting authors must register to the Congress in order for their selected abstract(s) to be part of the programme and published in the Congress Abstract CD-ROM.
